Syntel Recruitment Process-http://www.syntelcampus.com

Hi friends i am giving you the general procedure of recruitment of syntel company and this process might change:



Here is my SYNTEL campus placement Experience(JUNE 2008). Almost 170 students attended. Among them 34 students are shortlisted for technical interview. Finally 15 students are shortlisted for HR Interview. Finally 8 Students are selected. It is my 5th company. In first 4 companies I hadn?t cleared my written test. Recruitment Process consists of :

1. Online Test:
It consists of 5 sections which include Quantitative Aptitude, Series Completion&Coding, Comprehension, Correcting Sentence, Articles & Prepositions. For Quantitative Aptitude, Series Completion ? R.S. Agarwal is more than sufficient. Only thing is that you must complete within very short time. Each section contains 14 questions to be answered within 6min. For this hand practise and logical thinking is very essential. For success in aptitude you should think as an Engg., and solve as a 10th std., student. Time management is very essential. For Correcting Sentence, Articles&Prepositions ?Wren & Martin is more than sufficient. Practise tenses, articles and prepositions on Wren & Martin. Regular pracise and Speaking correct English will make u to clear this section very easily. Correcting Sentence ? in the test they have asked us to identify the wrong parts in the Sentence. Reading comprehension is very easy. For this u must fast reading & understanding habit. Each section has sectional cutoff.

2.Technical Interview:
I am an ECE student. So my interviewer asked me related to the subjects that i have come across. At first he had asked me about my area of interest. My area of interest is Computer networks. He asked me about network, diff., between bus and star ,internet,browser, lan. Then he asked me about TLW subject, wifi, working of cellphone, losses in transmission lines and how to overcome it. And some more questions that i can?t remember now. My interview lasted morethan 40 min. Most important thing is that u should have parctical knowledge about the things that u have come across. In my panel almost 15 students attended, among them only 2 are selected. In other panel C,C++ are asked.

3.HR Interview:
It lasted for 20 min. The questions are: 1.Introduce urself. 2.Why want to hire u. 3.Tell about the website u come across to know about syntel: I said Freshersworld .com. He then asked me the procedure to go the syntel profile. I?ve explained him. Finally he was satisfied about my performance. He asked me to wait for the result. English grammar is more essential thing while speaking. More students are eliminated becuse of this in this round. The result was announced by 7:15pm. I?m the 4th person among the 8. I felt very happy, no words to express my joy. Do well. I pray the almighty for all of ur success in placement. See u all at SYNTEL.

Guys this is my experience at syntel recriutment at chennai on 23rd and 24th june 2008.

First of all am selvakumar currently doing my final year at crescent engineering college.
I attented the syntel placement drive at sathyabhama university with panimalar and my college.
over 1500 people attented the drive and out of which around 48 got selected. 28 from sathyabhama university. 15 from panimalar and 5 from crescent..............
The recruitement started on 23rd at 9am with the PPT.
The Human Resource head took the ppt and set off the placement drive. Each of us were given a login id and password.Plz remember this syntel usually has an online test...............
The test was rather easy but had 6 parts [10-14 questions in] each with a different sectional cut-off and also each section has a timer set usually in seconds after which the section changes and its really impossible to get back to the previous section once the set time expires so time management is one very important factor. After that around 2 pm the results were announced.
Many were short listed and in my college out of 200 people 44 were selected.

The next round is the G.D round.....again beware this is were the maximum elimination of candidates take place. Since we were 44 we were split into 10 in each batch so 4 batches and 1 batch with only 4 people.
The G.D started at 4 pm each batch approx. 4 or 5 only were selected in some there were only 3.Thus the count came down to 18 in total from my college....................

Then immediately after G.D we were given a sheet and told to write an essay on a topic.
We were given "IT a boon or bane for INDIA", after writing we were told to leave and come at 8am the next day, it was around 6:30 when we left..................

The next day we reached there sharply at 8 am.
The next step was the TECHNICAL INTERVIEW Sorry to say this but if you are not technically strong don't even bother to attend this round.......because this is one round in which your skills alone can save you.
They usually ask in which language you are familiar with so say them whatever language you are comfortable with.............better if you have already specified in your resume............

Am not spoofing here but i had the longest technical round [around 45-50 minutes], had a lot of questions from C and C++ i was comfortable with SQL however he never asked me that and started with C and C++ by default.

i answered about 90 percent of them the results came only at 6 pm in the evening and 8 of us were short listed. We were told to go for H.R round were simple questions like:
1.Long term goal and short term goal.
2.Tell me about yourselves.
3.Why did you choose to attend the syntel placement drive were asked. This is the most easiest part

At last they called all who attended the H.R round into the same room where the H.R round took place and started calling the short listed candidates 5 were called my college and I was very happy that i was one among them.

So prepare well guys all the very best.
