In Kerala garb, Mallika seeks a snake's good fortune

Alappuzha, Kerala:  There's something about an imminent release that gets actors to channel their inner devotee. Perhaps in an attempt to prove she is one - devotee, not actor- Mallika Sherawat visited the Mannarasala temple in Kerala's Alappuzha district.

There was a happy real life-reel life confluence in her visit. The temple honours snakes, and Ms Sherawat plays half-woman, half-snake in her new film, Hisss.
"I have come here to give my respects to the snake god. It's after 24 years that a film on naag-naagin is coming up, so I prayed that the film does well," said Ms Sherawat, not hissing.

Directed by Jennifer Lynch, Hisss also stars Irrfan Khan and Divya Dutta. The movie has also been dubbed into 3 regional languages including Malayalam.

The award consists of a 'Swarn Kamal', a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh and a shawl. Some of the well-known films produced by Ramanaidu in various languages are 'Prem Nagar', 'Dildar', 'Bandish' in Hindi, 'Srikrishna Tulabharam', 'Preminchu' 'Ramudu Bheemudu', 'Bobbili Raja', 'Ahana Pellanta', 'Andhra Vaibhavam', 'Kathanayakudu' in Telugu and 'Asukh', 'Sudhu Ekbar Bolo' in Bengali.
Born in Karamchedu in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh in 1936, Ramanaidu entered the film world in 1963 with his first film 'Anuragam'. Over the last 47 years, he has produced over 130 films in several Indian languages and has found a mention in the Guinness Book of Records. Apart from Telugu films, he has the distinction of producing movies in Hindi, Bengali, Oriya, Assamese, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Gujarati, Marathi and Bhojpuri.
His film, "Surigadu" was selected for the Indian Panorama in 1993. "Asukh", a Bengali film, won the National Award for the Best Film in 1999. Mega star Rajinikanth will fly to Mumbai after a gap of 15 years for the music release of his upcoming movie Robot (Endhiran).
The actor who is known to avoid public appearances, will make an exception for Robot (Endhiran).
Bollywood biggies Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan have also confirmed to attend the music launch.
The movie has Aishwarya Rai Bachchan playing the female lead opposite Rajinikanth. Music maestro AR Rahman has given the musical score of the movie and it has been directed by Shankar.

Sekhar Kammula Leader leading the Tollywood Box Office 2010

Leader movie is very good. The built-up scenes of hero Rana becoming CM and very well written and directed by sekhar kammula. Music of the movie is the biggest asset. Mickey J Meyer came up with impact making background score and rerecording. The love/betrayal episode and hero’s effort to save CM chair brings the tempo of the movie upset in the second half.
Maa Telugu Talliki song climax is good, it appears abrupt and is devoid of the politically charged excitement required for ending of a movie. Sekhar Kammula make a movie for corruption free politics should be appreciated. Sekhar Kammula did very good job in the first half. However, the things aren’t the same in the second half. On a whole, Leader is a noble attempt to do an idealistic movie and it performs well at box office in Tollywood.

Rakesh’s son Hrithik Roshan who is now synonymous to the role Krrish,the krissh is Being the third in the series after Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish, the new block in the franchise Krishh 2 is going to be another action packed thriller with some good blend of sci-fi superhuman antics of the protagonist. It remains interesting to see how Deepika fares. Chandini Chowk failed miserably at the the box office and all of Miss Padukones effort had gone unnoticed. The introduction of two women, however, force Bingham to park it on life’s long runway and assess if his life has any meaning.

Clooney keeps Reitman’s film grounded, though he’s assisted by three outstanding female co-stars Vera Farmiga, Anna Kendrick and Melanie Lynskey as Clooney’s soon-to-be-wed sister. But it’s the film’s commentary on our nation’s current unemployment crisis that makes “Up” extremely relevant, and a film tailored specifically for its time.

With his first feature-length adventure since “Titanic,” Cameron takes audiences to the mythical planet of Pandora, where a former Marine (Sam Worthington) attempts to infiltrate an alien race but ends up falling for a beautiful native (Zoe Saldana). Cameron’s eye-popping visuals are the story, particularly because the actual narrative is too simple to sustain the 150-minute run time. But “Avatar” does take 3-D technology and IMAX projection to new heights.

Meanwhile, “Did You Hear About the Morgans?” drops Hugh Grant’s romantic-comedy career to new lows. The stammering Brit stars alongside Sarah Jessica Parker in a flat fish-out-of-water farce that transports New Yorkers to Wyoming after they witness a murder. Transport yourself to a different theater, one that’s showing a better film.
