Heavy rains in kavali and nellore

there was a heavy rains in kavali and several places in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district since Tuesday night. The district received an average rainfall of 20.8 mm in the last 24 hours, according to said Met department officials. The incessant rain brought cheers to the paddy farmers who started sowing/transplantation for the ongoing rabi crop. However, the continuous downpour affected normal life in kavali town on Wednesday. The highest rainfall of 55.4 mm was recorded in Kavali Divison, Kodavalur mandal followed by 53.6 in Vidavalur, 51.4 in Buchireddypalem, 51.2 in Dagadarthi and 50.1 mm in Nellore Urban mandal. The lowest of 1.0 mm was recorded in Chittamur mandal. Many low lying areas and roads were submerged due to the incessant rain in Nellore town. Traffic was jammed at several places due to stagnation of water.
